Dr. Ship Maitre was born and raised in Mobile and graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in 2003. In 2009 he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Dental organizations to which he belongs are the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and Mobile Dental Society.
Dr. Maitre has made a career long commitment to continuing his education in dentistry. He has completed over 200 hours of hands on training in the field of dental implant placement and grafting under the guidance of Dr. Michael McCracken and his Comprehensive Implant Residency Program. Dr. Maitre also regularly attends hands on workshops at Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona. There he learns the latest in diagnostic, restorative, and cosmetic procedures taught by some of the brightest minds in dentistry.
Dr. Maitre is also a member of the Senior Bowl Committee as well as other athletic booster organizations. He is a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, where he has sat on several church committees, taught Sunday school, and served as an usher and greeter. He also performs donated dental service for women in treatment at Home of Grace.
When away from the office, Dr. Maitre enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf. He and his wife, Julia, have a daughter, Mary Sisson, and two sons, Eli and John Luke.
